The lovely rustic stone house is situated in the small private Blue Bay estate within the greater Agulhas Nature Reserve, which is a leisurely 230 km drive (about 3 hrs) from Cape Town. The house was constructed in 2006 by keen astronomers with the unique feature of a sky observation deck above the garage. Today, only the remaining 600mm diameter concrete telescope mounting post and sliding roof section are evidence of their passion. Stargazer’s Lodge is situated in a still easily accessible region where the star filled night sky and clear view of the Milky Way will leave visitors in awe, as will the surrounding undisturbed surrounding “fynbos” vegetation and wildlife calling it home. With an unspoilt view of the fynbos, spectacular white dune and ocean in the distance from the upper deck, it is clear why this is where your soul will find peace from the daily ratrace.
